Product review – Derma roller
I used the “white lotus transdermal roller”, which is pretty much the same as this one, which is more easily available on Amazon. I also use the surgical spirit spray to clean it afterwards and keep it in the case, as you don’t want to be introducing any dust into your skin etc.
It’s a reasonable cost and does the job. There are a number of reviews form other people who have had great results on some other issues too, such as hair growth, large pores, acne, wrinkles and facial scars. Overall it gets excellent reviews and form my point of view the product does what it says.
On the negative side, it does hurt a little, some brands supply you with numbing cream, but over use of numbing creams can affect skin sensitivity so I have not used that. Also it takes products into the skin deeper into the “live” layers so I’m not sure if you would want numbing creams going in there!
I have used many off the shelf products (creams, oils & lotions) with the roller now and they all have better affect with the roller rather than just putting them on your skin. As I say, I have sensitive skin, so if yours is sensitive, then I would be careful what products I use and look on the labels to see what you are putting on. You put the products on AFTER you have done the rolling and not before (as before would make the roller dirty and you wouldn’t be able to clean it).
When you use the roller for the first time, use with care and only do a few runs. It feels like not a lot is happening, but if you overdo it you will feel like you have sun burn the next day! So if you use it on your face, be very careful, (don’t go near the eyes etc and follow the instructions!! I have not used it on my face) and make sure you don’t have a big event the next day until you see how your skin reacts to it. For example on my hand it looks like lots of gnat bites and on my stretch marks it goes red.
If you have stretch marks where the skin is really broken, it made a HUGE difference on mine. the skin seemed softer and the ridges much less pronounced to me.
All in all it might not be for everyone as you may have a low pain threshold, but I would definitely recommend it for results.
