Summer’s coming and we all start to think about our feet and toe nails. Here’s a few relaxing ways to remove dead skin and revitalise your feet ready to bare all!

Home made foot scrub with ingredients you find in the home
Please note: Even though these smell delicious they are NOT FOR EATING!! 😉
Fresh!
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
7 drops of essential oil (orange/bergamot are good)
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl and scrub your feet with it in circular motions. (I do this in the shower or bath, but be careful not to slip!), Rinse of with warm water and dry and moisturise.
NB I used this on my body (with regular sugar) as well and it leaves the body feeling soft smooth and silky.
Relaxing…
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tspn vanilla essence
5 drops Lavender oil
Mix together all of the ingredients, scrub your feet well, using circular motions, rinse with warm water, dry thoroughly and moisturise.
Nom Nom
1 cup brown sugar
1 tspn honey
1 tspn vanilla essence
1/4 cup olive oil
Mix together all of the ingredients, scrub your feet well, rinse with warm water, dry and moisturise.

Foot Soak to remove dead/dry skin
1/4 cup cool mint listerine
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 cups warm water
Add the vinegar and listerine to the water in a bowl that you can fit your feet in. Soak your feet in the enhanced water for 10 minutes. (I do this while listening to a podcast or relaxing reading a book). Take your feet out and rub dry with a towel, a lot of the dry skin will rub away, leaving your feet clean and soft. (Rub more or use a pumice for more stubborn dry skin). Then once thoroughly dry you can moisturise with a good moisturiser. (I use Forever Propolis creme, as its deeply moisturising and has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties, but any good moisturiser will do).
Relaxing foot soak with aloe
Small (1/2 tspn) Hand Soap
Get a bowl or foot spa of warm water add a small squirt of heat lotion and a squirt of hand & face soap, swish the water and put your feet in. This smells lovely and reminds me of germalene as a kid.
Foot Soak and detox
1/4 cup Epsom Salts
1/4 cup Sea Salt
1/2 cup Baking soda (Bicarbonate of soda for us Brits!)
2 drops lavender oil
Soak your feet in the above mixture for 10 minutes, towel dry and moisturise.
NB If you like crafting, you can make a gift of this for your friends/family, times the ingredients by 4 and put into a mason jar or clean jam jar, decorate with ribbons and cellophane and add a gift label 😀
Whilst the treatments wont necessarily make your feet look younger, they are very likely to make your feet feel pretty good!
CAUTION: Epsom-salt baths are contraindicated in cardiovascular or high-blood-pressure conditions. Ask your doctor, in such a case, whether you may take the bath.
